Training in High Risk Behavioral Presentations and Risk Management Techniques

QPS Consultants know the staff skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in a Behavioral Health Care and Substance Abuse Program setting. QPS will assist your staff in preparing Training Needs Assessments to determine the gaps between your staff's current level of knowledge, skills, and abilities with that level needed to assure quality health care, patient safety, and reduction in risk exposures. 

In addition, QPS Consultants will assist your organization in setting up training programs and classrooms that will allow your staff to actively participate in the study of complicated or emotionally sensitive administrative, clinical, or programmatic policy, procedures, and operational techniques in the safe environment of a training session, rather than trying to figure out the best approach in a real life situation that poses threats and risks to your staff, your clients, or both. QPS will show you how to structure you training program based on a participatory approach. In a training session, the whole group will actively participate in the process of learning, allowing individuals to share and exchange their knowledge and problems, and then together search for optimal solutions. 

 When your staff have the opportunity to share and analyze their experiences in a comfortable atmosphere, without anyone forcing or constraining their responses, without the anxiety or discomfort that result from a "wrong" answer; when they understand that their individual knowledge and abilities are valued; they will become wellsprings of information regarding your organization. They will become more open, more sharing, and increase the probability of providing your management team with valuable insights into the day to day operations of your organization. In addition, their desire to learn and apply their learning experiences on-the-job will be greatly enhanced. 

Finally, in addition to establishing training programs related to administrative, clinical, and program policies and procedures, nursing provision of care, treatment, and service standards; QPS Consultants will establish training programs that will significantly improve the way your staff manage the difficult and high risk behaviors of you patient population, such as the following:

  • Contraband
  • Suicide and Homicide Prevention
  • Elopement Prevention
  • Chemical and Physical Restraints
  • Seclusion
  • Addiction or Substance Abuse Therapies
